i didn't have any problems today with getting to my classes, though 2 of the 3 doors were blocked and locked. The protestors were also hanging around the door with fliers and other things to try and distract you from entering the buildings. I heard from one of my professors that earlier in the morning it was worse then when I had arrived around 11am. She thinks things will become more difficult as the week goes on.

Some words of wisdom for those planning on studying abroad, paticularly Burt, Christina, Gabe and anyone else I don't remeber. Pass this along to a friend that you know is planning on studying.

READ, READ,READ all that you possibly can before you come here. Spend a little time once a week reading what ever you can in the language of the country you plan on studying in. Book, internet, magazine, anything and work your way through it with a dictionary. Even an hour a week will help immensely because when you get where ever life will be hard. I, and probably you too, have so much reading that I'm lucky to get through 3/4 or it a week and you understand even less. Increasing your vocab and speed before hand will help a lot.
Hammering through with dictionary the first couple of times usually makes it a little easier for the later reading because you pick up the main vocabulary that you need, but that depends on what you're studying. Politics is really easy, though a lot, because a large number of the words are similar in english, and you see the same ones over and over. History on the other hand is a nightmare. Looking up words on the first few pages of a section helps with the section, but only till they change topics. I can't speak for other subjects.

If you have ever or never listened to anything I've said, this is the one to take to heart. It's worth loosing a little extra sleep or some socializing time.
(This was typed from under the mountain of reading burying me.)
