What I thought would be a very good day is turning into a very bad day. I woke up at 8 am as planned, but then decided to go back to sleep for another two hours. It was a compromise between 8am to do work, and my normal noon laziness. When I finally got out of bed I was overjoyed to see the sun. It is the first time in two weeks that we've seen the sun, though as I'm typing the clouds are coming back. My initial plan of the day was to do laundry and study Italian and history. I started walking to the laundry room with my hamper, and started thinking that I should use such a nice sunny day to go running. So, after making all the way to the laundry room I walked back up 3 flights of stairs to my place. Changed to running cloths and went out. The first half of the run was very nice, but as I approached my turn around point, top of a big hill in the area, the wind blew in from the north freezing me to death. So I headed back.
My new plan was to shower, do laundry, eat lunch, and study. Well Malta was in the shower so I decided to skip to eating lunch. I thought I would keep things simple with a can of beans and cut up bratwurst cooked in the beans. I'm merrily cutting up the frozen bratwurst with a hugh chief's knife while the beans are warming up on the stove. About 3/4 through the brat my hand decides that my finger would make a tasty addition to the soup. It followed through with the thought and proceeded to slice into the last digit of my left hand middle finger. About an 1/8 inch in my finger decided the pain wasn't worth the added taste, and promtly retracted the knife. About 10 minutes of holding the cut closed and then a band aid for an hour have finally conviced it to stop bleeding.
At this point my day is completely out of wack. Cooking, eating and showering took longer, there was no free washing machines, and I still have studied Italian for 4 weeks or more, and I have class in 2 hours. In addition to that, I won't be able to play my clarinet for several days right after getting into regular practise habits again. I've managed over 3 hours of practising in the last 3 days. If only things could have gone like yesterday. Yesterday was perfectly efficient: up at 8am, study 3 hours, got to class 4 hours, come home, eat dinner, practise clarinet 1 hour, go to aerobics 1 hour, come home, shower, emails, read car mag 1 hour, and to bed by 11:45pm. I need more days like yesterday if I'm going to make it successfully through exams. Now that I've wasted another 15 minutes complaning and recaping, i'm going to study Italian for two hours.
