We took the train out to Edinburgh, capital of Scotland, and spent the day walking around following a bus tour map once again. If you ever make it to Scotland, Edinburgh is the place to visit. It is much nicer and older the Glasgow. We could have spent 3 days there and not seen everything.
On returning to Glasgow I had my second language barrier problem. We happened across an A&W and I decided to order a Root Beer Float. I went up to the counter and said “large root beer float please”. The girl working there then said, “$%@%$^@##@%,” thinking she had asked me what I wanted I repeated my order. She then repeated herself, and received a blank look from me. I was thinking to my self, “My God, is she speaking Gaelic to me?” With wonderful gestures repeated herself a third time more slowly. She pointed to the ground and said “for here” and then pointed to the door “or to go.” Wow, don’t I feel dumb.
