For those who are wonder when I'm coming home to visit or just want to read me rant for about 2 paragraphs read further.

I was supposed to come home March 3rd, but decided the first two weeks of April were better for two reasons: home for easter and my language class has a 2 week break. So I decided to push my ticket back to the end of March, preferably the Saturday the 27th. Of course at that point it was too late, and they weren't releasing seats for alter tickets purchased with milage points. Waiting list opens up 4 days ahead of flight, but no seats open up because coach is sold out and business is oversold. Where I stand now...

I'm confirmed for a flight on April 7th, but I get to try coming home every day before that by calling for a flight that isn't sold out the next day. Then going to the airport and trying to get a seat at the check in desk. This is complicated by the fact that they are not doing stand by since 9/11. So basically I have no idea when I'll be home, though I hope before the 7th. Too many people to see and things to take care of, i.e. find an appartment for next year at UIUC.

This will be my planned schedual if I have to come home the 7th I think:

Wed 7th - get home in the morning, unpack, relax with family
Thur 8th - leave early morning for UIUC, try to find apartment, dinner with friends
Fri 9th - look for apartment if I didn't already find one, more visiting, come home late afternoon, evening with
friends back home
Sat 10th - more time with family, evening with friends and/or family
Sun 11th - Easter at my place with family
Mon 12th - thought I was going home, but it may be the 14th. If 14th, don't know what I'm doing on 13th.

If this stays as my schedual, anyone wanting a ride back to the burbs for Easter can come with me friday night, or early Saturday morning depending on any changes.

Why are all the Germans fleeing to the US in the two weeks that I want to travel home?
