We meet up with Chris and his family who are also traveling around Europe right now and took a 2 hour walk around St. Peters. I could never take any picture to capture the immensity and beuaty of it. The main hall is almost 700 feet long and the peak of the dome is nearly 500 Feet high. The frescos and marble statues are beyond belief. There is a marble, we think, carving of a pope in a glass coffin, but it is so life like we thought it may have actually been his perserved body. We also took the elevator ride to the roof to look out over the square and city, and then continued to the dome stair case. There are about 320 stairs, I only counted 302, to the top walk way. I'm guessing it took about 8 to 10 minutes to walk up because I timed us at 5 minutes going down.

We took Chris and his family to lunch at the same Pizzaria from yesterday then headed to Trevi Fountain. Along the way we walked passed tons of other monuments and churches. After the fountain Sheena Thomas and I headed back to the hostel through the shopping district and are getting ready to turn in. I'm going to try and get up to photograph the sunrise from Gioncolo park as it rises over the city.
