After a crazy week, it was nice haveing a slight change of pace this weekend. Most of the week was filled with reading an insane amount of literature in German and a presentation in English on the Electoral College system. Thursday I woke up at 6am, don't ask, to the wonderful grayness of a rainy cloudy day. By 8pm thursday nothing about the appearance changed during the day, which continued through Saturday morning. It was oh so wonderful to have over 48 hours of non-stop rain.
Friday afternoon was interesting setting up a party tarp outside with the rain, but I had organized a Grill party over a week ago. After setup and a slow start with the grill things got rolling at the party. Some thing like 27 people were here at the peak, and the grill was going for 3 hours to feed everyone. Everyone had a blast from what I heard, and then headed to the Spanish party in the Dorm party room. I didn't spend much time at the Spanish party, though I still managed to see 6am on Saturday look exactly like 6am on Thursday. Hopefully the next time I plan a grill party it will be sunny and above 50 degrees.
On a different not last night was wonderfully calm and relaxing. Sheena Chris and I sat down to a cup of tee, dopple keks (two cookies with chocolate in between), classical music and a chat. At some point we ended up singing some sheet music, which made me realize I am extremely out of practise for singing and music in general. So today I played my clarinet for the first time in 4 months, ouch, and felt like almost a beginner again. I could still play but my tounge and jaw muscles were tired way to quickly. This realization will result in a intensive clarinet practising schedual being thrown into my 100+ pages of mandatory German reading a week and my presentation preperations. Yeah for no social life during the week. hope your all having as much fun without classes anymore.
