I think the most exciting part of my trip was caving outside of Budapest. I was expecting a walking tour through the caves. Instead we were crawling around on our stomach and draging ourselves with our arms, climbing up crevaces, and sliding through gaps. I definitly want to do it again.

Transalvania and the Carpatian Mountains are beuatiful, and definitly worth the visit for any nature lover, hiker, camper person. Bucharest on the other hand is a relatively blan city. It is not exactly a tourist city, rather a historical contrast of the poor population and the Communist monstrosity south of the city center.

The family I stayed with in Bucharest was absolutely lovely. The mother is Canadian and the father Romanian. The kids spoke decent English for having grown up in Romania. They were quiet amusing during the times I sat around the house instead of exploring the city.
