Italian kicking my Butt

Italian class has really dominated my time this week. If I’m not in class, I am studying at home to keep up in the lecture(or drinking with Dorota). The other day we went over a verb tense that I haven’t seen since Germany, and it was too difficult for me to deal with in class. I’m not sure if I understand it yet, but I’ll get there. That class left a feeling of hopelessness for the exam next weekend, but things have turned around. We are working on prepositions and verbs that require them. The rules are a bit easier than those for the same thing in German.

Dave and I also managed to miss the group meeting for Mechanical engineering with the advisor. Hopefully we can find him in his office today, or figure out online what time the classes that we want to take are at. I thought I was going to get away with only taking two classes for 10 credits, but their CFU are different than our hours. Apparently I need to take 20-30 CFU. I hope that doesn’t correspond to the number of hours in class per week.

The Hungarian girl in my class, Vanda, asked me if I could help an Italian friend of her’s prepare for a phone interview in English. Hopefully tonight will be the start of regular meetings to practice Italian and English. At the very least I get to have coffee with a cute Hungarian and Italian girl.
