Trip, Turkey, and a Suit

I’m not sure I know what to say about today. Pambos told me no for the trip, which means the general interest will deteriorate. That’s fine, I don’t need to spend the money. I thought it would be fun to go to Munich with a group of friends for a change, which I’ve never done even though I’ve been there at least four times. Or go to Berlin, which I’ve never been to to the horror and surprise of many people considering I lived in Germany 10 months. I still think now as I did then that I will eventually get there either for work purposes or vacation in the future when I have money. It also seemed like a convenience to them to have a translator along on the trip, their loss not mine I guess.

I found out yesterday from the butcher at the supermarket across the street that I will be able to get a whole turkey for Thanksgiving. This is good news, as I did not think it would be easy to find one. For time considerations since we wont have the day off we will be celebrating on the weekend after, December 2^nd. The extra week is in case the Berlin trip materializes.

This week has also been a productive in the clothing world as well. I finally used the gift certificate from returning the defective jeans that I bought last month to buy another pair that more or less fit. It is extremely tight and long, but I have been loosing weight and hope to continue on that path. I also received my suit back from the tailor today. I have been needing a new sports jacket at home and possibly a suit that doesn’t look so utterly business and boring. Especially here were the club and bar standards are higher than at home. Everything here was expensive so I found something nice and cheap in Germany two weeks ago. I managed to buy the pants and jacket+vest separately, which is usually impossible and all the more reason for buying it since I could get the proper jacket size without pants that are too big. The pants came without a hem and I felt the jacket sleeves were too long and the mid section to big, so I had them both tailored properly. It is extremely sharp now, and I will post a picture when we go out and I am all dressed up.

To go with the vest I went and bought a burgundy tux shirt today. As a seemingly regular customer at the store I went to for at least browsing at the nice stuff the women gave me a nice discount that included a pair of cufflinks. I know I complained yesterday about the money issues for a trip, but cloths and suits are a long term investment. Vacation is a weekend of fun. Plus with the job searching that I will need to be doing in the spring it will give me something else to wear besides my current suit.
