The week in a blur

This week has been a whirl wind of activity. Aside from the hectic class schedule and trying to understand Italian all day long, social activity reached a peak this week. There was an Erasmus party Tuesday, which I thought was going to be an aperitivo since it was at a café. I turned out to be wrong, but all of my friends and I meet for aperitivo anyways. Aperitivo is a wonderful Torino tradition of going to one of the cafes in town, buying €6 worth of drinks, and getting all you can eat appetizers. Of course the idea is to eat a meal afterwards, but we make dinner out of it. Alessa was the only person that actually showed up at 7pm, so the two of us had a nice dinner together with a bottle of wine. It was excellent for my German. The rest showed up around 9 after a late departure, and we finished off the evening there. The party at the other café started too late for us so we went home.

Wednesday I cooked pizza, less than impressive in my opinion. I tried making the loose crust style that grandma makes, but it didn’t turn out properly. None the less a fun evening and the apple cake desert turned out well. Post dinner turned into a large party when a number of people just showed up that I were not expecting. Everyone seemed to bring two or three people with.

Thursday was my first trip to one of the Erasmus club parties. It had been a while since I was at a dance club, but it was nice going with a group of more girls than guys. You can see the pictures on Flickr. I will be adding some that the Erasmus club people took as well.

Friday was a night in, and today will be in, but at Marina’s for a going away party of sorts. Latitia and Everaldo are moving to different apartment buildings in Torino. It should be fun, I’ve made tiramisu as a surprise.
